Retail Spotlight: Karmaloop Flagship

kllead.jpg
Boston may get hated on a lot, but let’s be real here, it has blessed us with Conan O’Brien, New Edition and one of the most highly trafficked street wear websites, Karmaloop. The city is also home to the e-commerce monolith’s flagship store, which held a grand re-opening in June…

Bucking the current minimalist trend seen at most upscale streetwear stores, Karmaloop cultivated a luxe gothic look with purple damask wallpaper, hard-wood floors, heavy gold framework, and a dark knight in armor rocking headphones. They’ve also grabbed original wrought-iron framework from the iconic Boston Public Library. The coolest feature is a section of the floor with glass inlay displaying the store’s construction and a forgotten pair of Jordan Vs. There are also computer kiosks where you can log onto Karmaloop.com and cop something that’s sold out. The shop carries most of the goods you can find online including Irak NY, Crooks & Castles and limited-edition Vans, and it’s the only retailer in Boston to carry Sal Barbier. See more of the store below.
