Five Embarrassing Beauty Pageant Moments
For the second year in a row, Miss USA took a spill last night during the Miss Universe pageant, solidifying the fact that hot American chicks need to spend more time practicing walking and less time on their make-up.
America’s representative Crystle Stewart slipped during the evening-gown competition when her shoes got caught on the dress, making her the latest victim of pageantry embarrassment (see the slip here). To her credit, Stewart shook off the awkward moment like a champ by smiling, raising her hands and making a clapping motion to the crowd. In honor of the latest pageant mishap, we took a look back at some of the most classic blunders from past competitions.
Miss World Falls Flat (Miss Iceland 2006 Competition)
It's a little disheartening when the girl voted “Miss World” can't even walk straight. As she's strutting off the stage, the blue-dress beauty does one of the worst face plants ever caught on tape, sending her tiara flying.
Miss Universe’s Dress Falls Off (2004 Australian Appearance)
In a 2004 fashion show appearance, Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins’s class went out the window when her loose-fitted dressed fell off to expose her red thong. The embarrassed model ran off the stage holding her cheeks, but it was too late, the audience had already got their peeks in.
Smart or Beautiful? (Miss Philippines Competition)
In this Miss Philippines contest, Jeanie Anderson was asked whether she rather be beautiful, but not too smart or vice versa. It's clear that Anderson chooses the first option. Her answer to the question is painfully stupid, saying that you can learn a lot from the experience of being smart. (Sigh)
Miss USA Takes a Spill (Miss Universe 2007)
Back in 2007, Rachel Smith (better known as Miss USA) disgraced herself, and all 50 states by falling flat on her ass moments after coming on the stage. To her credit, Smith recovered very well, and looked hot after the brief stint on her tush. Just like America.
Miss South Carolina Is A Moron (Miss Teen USA 2007)
In 2007, Miss South Carolina set the state back a good 4 years with her babbling answer to this geography question. How Alfred Clifford (AC Slater) didn't crack up laughing on the spot is mind-boggling.
