Vans AV3

vans-av3.jpg
For Anthony Van Engelen’s third model, the skater wanted to fuse a functional skate shoe, with an aesthetic that’s inspired by retro soccer shoes. Mission accomplished—as the AV3 looks like something Ronaldo would play indoor with, but is hooked up with skate-friendly features like a internal PU midsole, and a waffle grip outsole making for a sturdy ride. Check for these to drop in Vans’ team line this fall.

  1. those look like some sort of adidas knockoffs… why would vans do that?

  2. I agree - even the pinked edges on the logo. If you want retro soccer shoes, go with originals from Puma or Adidas. Even Nike and Reebok. I got some sweet Speziales for like $40 online and those are true retro soccer shoes. I like Vans because they’re pretty original, but I don’t like these very much. I liked it when they were reissuing their old punk and skate designs.
