Game Recognize Game: Sid Meier

With nearly 25 years of experience as a game designer and a shelf full of classic titles—including Railroad Tycoon, Pirates!, and the Civilization series—Sid Meier has thoroughly earned his title as the “Father of Computer Gaming”. For those of you more familiar with sports than strategy games, know this: Sid Meier is the Madden of his genre—if Sid’s name is on it, you know it’s worth playing. In advance of his latest game (and first on current-gen consoles) Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution (2K Games—360, PS3, DS), in stores this Wednesday, the legendary designer revealed the first game he ever beat, the one game he can’t beat, and the game he’s most look forwarding to. 1. Current favorite game of the moment: Portal (Xbox 360).
2. My favorite time to play video games is: Anytime!
3. Favorite genre of game: Strategy.
4. Favorite current console: I enjoy playing games on all of them – they each offer something unique and fun.
5. Favorite handheld: Same as answer above ☺.
6. My earliest video game memory is…Space Invaders.
7. First video game console ever purchased, and favorite game on it: Atari 800 and my favorite game was Star Raiders.
8. First video game I ever beat was: Star Raiders.
9. Best coin-operated arcade game: Battle Zone (Atari).
10. Hardest game I’ve ever played: Midnight Club 3 – it’s incredibly challenging.
11. Video game nobody can beat me in: Gran Turismo 3.
12. Favorite game of all-time: Starcraft.
13. Game I’m most looking forward to: Starcraft II.
