Take A Sneak Peak At Budweiser “American Ale”

We’re Budweiser fans over here at Complex, so much so that even the guys who secretly prefer Zima still claim it as their go-to in order to avoid being labeled terrorist-lovers. Our friendly Anheuser Busch reps invited us to come test out the new Budweiser American Ale last night, a beer coming out in October that is designed to be more flavorful and more full-bodied than the O.G. While we were expecting a flavor profile hinting of Sierra Nevada hippie crap, we were pleasantly surprised by its drinkability. Budweiser American Ale hits stands on October 6th, so while you’re waiting check the jump for some photos from our blind taste test.
Pretty sure this one was original Budweiser:

Guess which is which:

Mmmmmmm. New shit!:

Sierra Nevada is a BRITISH STYLE PALE ALE, it’s not exactly “hippie crap” as you so eloquently put it. You blast zima and then drink a beer that tastes like water. Budweiser is a beer for people who either don’t like real beer or have no idea what real beer is. Bud has no flavor and no character. Do yourself a favor and switch to Bartles and Jaymes. It’s pretty obvious that you don’t like beer anyway.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is the flagship standard for Pale Ales and is one of the most respected breweries world wide. Show respect and gain some beer knowledge.

Man, Gthomas and Brian must’ve had funnybonechtomies (the technical term for the removal of one’s sense of humor). Talk about getting bent out of shape for no good reason! Jeeze. Yes, every beer lover knows that Sierra Nevada is a great beer. But that doesn’t mean one can’t enjoy a good ol’ Bud now and again. And this here beer lover is looking forward to giving American Ale a try. Beer drinking is supposed to be fun, Gthomas and Brian, not a contest to determine who has the more high-falutin’ taste. So chill out and have a pint, for chrissakes.
