Ferrari California Is Topless In 15 Seconds Flat

ferraricalifornia_main.jpg
Once upon a time, the hardtop was an outcast in the world of convertible cars. They were too slow to convert, too bulky to store and too expensive to be worth it for most folks. But after years of flimsy ragtops dominating the industry, the release of the new Ferrari California could be a sign that the hardtop is officially running shit now.

In a first for the Italian sports car manufacturer, they’ve created a multi-piece roof system that moves in unison for an amazingly efficient conversion. In a new video, Ferrari show that you can put the California’s hardtop up or down in under 15 seconds, which is a new record. We could also throw a bunch of technical info at you about how the V8 engine allows you to go from 0 to 60 in less than 4 seconds, but we’d rather just play with the roof. Watch the video below and stay tuned for the car’s official unveiling at this year’s Paris Auto Show.
