Before Asher came out with ‘i love college’ and shit I met him at a party over the summer in my hometown West Chester. He told me about his music and himself, I didnt much pay attention cuz all i could think was “oh, here we go… another white rapper.” But then he started talking about other things than rapping and hes actually humble, he knows hes white, and hes been doing this rapping ish for a long time. So John Brown who says that Asher is copying his suburban thing… uhh no Asher has been rapping for a long ass time, but only kinda recently has been able to share with a larger audience

I could care less as to “what’s hot on streets” kind of shit and I know that Asher Roth doesn’t fit the prototypical rapper but I must say that this kid has some real skill. What is it with peoples’ fascination about someone having “street cred” and shit like that?? What does Street cred. get you?? It certainly doesn’t make you a better rapper just because you had a rough upbringing. If you’re dumb as a brick and you can’t convey your message effectively then you aren’t going anywhere. Asher Roth….this dude is definately going places, this kid has flows, he’s got the ability to manipulate words, probably it comes from being exposed to higher education. As for comparisons with Eminemn; every white rapper is going to be compared to Eminem but I really feel like Asher Roth has his own style, he doesn’t rap about drugs and trying to survive and killing his wife or girlfriend because that’s not his life. Dude talks about chilling and hanging out in college and stuff like that.
