Brand Profile: Shmack

Virginia Beach has always done things a little different. From vets like Jodeci’s Devante Swing to new school innovators like Timbaland and The Neptunes, the city’s residents have never been afraid to push musical boundaries. And now it seems that they’ve paved the way for VA’s burgeoning style movement, led by homegrown brands like Shmack.
You might have seen their print ads featuring producer Nottz, but Shmack is far more than a “hip-hop” brand. After startng out small with a T-shirt line in 2002, owner Todd Askins pushed the skateboard-inspired company’s designs to include jackets, sneakers, denim, and a cleaner, more mature line called Splinter, which drops this fall. After the jump, take a look at some of their new tees, the Red Crobar shoe, and the Jeffery Dahmer and Charles Manson graphic skateboard decks.
