Fold Up The Origami V12 Engine

oragamiengine_main.jpg
Chances are, you can’t afford a car that runs on a V12 engine. These extremely complex and expensive twelve-cylinder marvels are usually reserved for Ferraris and Lambos, but now a Canadian man has figured out how to build one that actually runs using almost nothing but paper.

Made out of 1,978 pieces of paper and a few other components like wires, LEDs and small wooden sticks, the Origami V12 Four-Stroke Engine runs as smoothly as the real thing on two AA batteries. You can buy your own kit to make one for about $110, or print out your own patterns and cop the rest of the pieces for about $85. The full origami car can’t be far off. Watch a few videos of the V12 running smoothly below.
