Take A Cruise On The Manned Cloud

G4s and Boeing jets have always been the standard air-transportation choice for those with deep pockets, but French industrial designer Jean-Marie Massaud wants to revolutionize the high-class flying game with The Manned Cloud.

Massaud—who already boasts collaborations with Yves Saint Laurent and Yamaha—cooked up this half-airplane, half-spaceship in conjunction with French space agency Onera. The specs (top speed 105 mph) and extravagant interior (amenities will rival a hotel cruise ship) of the double-decker blimp suggest that it’s made for casual traveling rather than speedy transportation. With a budget of $15 billion from private investors, he hopes to start mass producing by 2020. Check the prototype video of the machine after the jump.
