Red Dawn Remake Plans A New Invasion
Fans of bad ’80s movies will no doubt remember 1984’s Red Dawn, a classic in fear-mongering anti-Communist propaganda that was written and directed by John Milius (Conan The Barbarian). On Saturday at Cannes, MGM suits announced that they are considering a remake of the movie that helped launch the careers of Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen, Jennifer Grey and Lea Thompson. The plot followed a group of high school kids (”The Wolverines”) who are forced to go to war after Russian forces invade their small Colorado town, literally landing helicopters on the school’s football field. Even if you didn’t realize it, you were watching a thinly veiled tribute to the movie on South Park’s 2003 episode Grey Dawn, where the AARP invades their Colorado town after they try to ban old people from driving.
Given the fact that the Cold War has been a wrap for 20 years, we can’t help but wonder: who will the bad guys be in the remake? China? North Korea? Al Qaeda? After the jump, watch the trailer for the original Red Dawn and take a guess.

The bad guys should be liberals as they are doing the most damage to the country.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the love of GOD, STOP WITH THE REMAKES. NO ONE WANTS THEM, AND THE ORIGINALS ARE ALWAYS BETTER

This movie should get remade, but whom would the enemy be, I say the Russians and the Muslims, in the oringinal it was the Russians and Cubans, but I think there is so much political correctness now, that it will be interesting to see what the filmakers come up with. I doubt they will film anything that has China or Russia invading the US, maybe something with Muslims, but who knows??
Russia invading would great for cinema, but again everything is much more PC than it was in the 80’s, and that STINKS.
