The Thync Universal Remote Goes Way Beyond TV

With so many appliances in the house, it’s simply not fair that the TV, stereo and DVD player are the only ones that can be controlled by traditional remotes. Why should George Jetson be the only one who can warm up the shower while he’s still in bed?
Looking towards the future, a design student at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh has created the Thync Universal Remote concept. This “fully interlaced home control device” can be tuned to different frequencies, meaning it can be used to control virtually anything in the crib, from the oven to the lights in any room. The touch screen and voice command functions will make it so easy to program that the Thync will be more like having a personal assistant to do your bidding. Right now it’s just a concept, but it’s only a matter of time until something like this makes it to market. See more shots below.
