Lil Chuckee: The Future Of New Orleans Rap

lilchuckee_main.jpg
Once upon a time, tween rappers were Cash Money’s bread and butter. In 1993, one of the label’s earliest releases was by the group B.G.z, which featured an 11-year-old Lil Wayne and a 14-year-old B.G. (then known as Lil Doogie). Well now, it seems like the New Orleans rap institution might be coming full circle with the signing of Lil Chuckee. In a recent interview with MTV, Lil Wayne revealed that he has signed the 13-year-old MC to his Young Money imprint.

You’ve probably seen Chuckee without realizing it'as a pint-sized dancer, he’s appeared in numerous music videos, like Young Dro’s “Shoulder Lean” and Young Joc’s “I Know You See It.” But after his track “Too Clean” appeared on Lil Wayne’s The Drought is Over Vol. 5 mixtape, his lyrical talents have been taking center stage. He’s currently working hard on getting his Child’s Play Entertainment off the ground (visit his myspace here), but you can catch Chuckee in the upcoming video for Wayne’s “A Millie” and on Tha Carter III. After the jump, listen to his songs with Wayne and Birdman and watch a video of his “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” remix.

America’s definitely going in the right direction. Thank god, ’cause I was really worried about America’s youth until I saw this.
