Gas Pumping Goes Robotic

Your local gas man better pray that this gasoline robot never makes it to the U.S. Developed by Dutch company TankPitstop, this mechanical gas-pumper recognizes your type of car on arrival, opens up the latch to your gas tank, unscrews the cover and goes to work (check the process in a video after the jump). If the sitting-on-your-ass factor wasn’t enticing enough, the device prides itself on eco-friendly benefits like no spillages of gas, and TankPitstop promises that in the future the robot will be equipped to pump hydrogen and natural gas. The system that will have man vs. machine enthusiasts excited will hit petrol stations in the Netherlands later this year.
