Be The Ball With The Caddyshack Putter
Few men are filled with more wisdom than Chevy Chase’s Caddyshack character Ty Webb. His Zen-like approach to the game of golf influenced countless players to make the “neh-neh-neh-neh-neh-neh” sound while putting and gave rise to the popular philosophy “Be The Ball.”
Now, in a move of half marketing genius and half crass exploitation (aren’t they all?), a company has licensed the rights to create The Official Caddyshack Putter. It has a picture of the movie’s infamous gopher on the club, and the head cover emits Ty Webb’s putting sound when pushed. It’s available now for $250. I saw this club in the shop the other day. The head cover is pretty cool, but I was surprised at how nice the club was. It is definitely of great quality.
