It wasn’t until this year that dudes began to embrace alternatives to our beloved backpacks. Kanye West showed he was unafraid to embrace handbags by Louis Vuitton. And thanks to the likes of DKNY, Rag & Bone, and Reiss making unisex styles, the Berlin wall of such fashion taboos has fallen. Rather than be a statement of who you are on the inside, it’s really about what you’re carrying on the inside. Most are equipped to do exactly the same as your bulky backpack—carry a laptop, a few magazines, or your gym gear. That said, you should be cool with sporting a totebag, handbag, or duffle bag, as long as it doesn’t fall under the subcategory of pocket book, right? Vote on this trend after the jump.

ty goldsby, you keep carrying around your bookbag after work when you hit the bars. and i won’t have to worry about getting carded because i’ll look like i’m coming from the office instead of school.
