Guns N’ Roses N’ Free Dr. Pepper!
If you’re like us, you gave up on ever hearing the mythical unreleased Guns N’ Roses album Chinese Democracy somewhere around the time that Axl Rose came out on the 2002 VMAs dressed like the lost background dancer for Korn. Well now, in a pretty creative publicity stunt, Dr. Pepper is giving us a reason to hope again:
In an unprecedented show of solidarity with Axl, everyone in America, except estranged GNR guitarists Slash and Buckethead, will receive a free can of Dr Pepper if the album ships some time — anytime! — in 2008. Dr Pepper supports Axl, and fully understands that sometimes you have to make it through the jungle before you get it right.
Axl needs to do this—if for no reason other than to see if Dr. Pepper will go bankrupt when they’re forced to give away 300 million free cans. Remind yourself why Axl ain’t what he used to be by watching GNR’s frightening VMA performance after the jump…
