Quiksilver announced the winners of its Natural Selection contest today, with Travis Rice taking top billing at the inaugural event. This contest, held at Jackson Hole over a one-week waiting period from January 30th-February 5th, was an invite-only contest that brought some of the world's top riders to compete in a big-mountain freestyle format. Although the event was the brainchild of Rice, a Jackson Hole native and Quiksilver poster boy, there was no one on hill debating that he deserved the spot at the top, or complaining for that matter. Everyone involved caught a check, and was able to ride over 2 feet of fresh powder on terrain that was specifically closed for the event. Look for HD footage of this event to appear in next season's videos, or head over to the Natural Selection site to check out some QuickTime clips now.
