Rap Sheet: The Roc Is Still Solid

- Fiction: Def Jam denied reports that Roc-A-Fella artists were getting dropped from the label. In a recent interview, former Roc rapper Peedi Crack claimed the imprint was being dismantled and that Jay-Z had dispatched A&Rs to break the bad news. In related Hovie news, there’s rumors buzzing around of an upcoming Blueprint 3 album. A new track by Jay, “Ain’t I,” off Clue’s new “I Am Legend” mixtape hints of a new LP in the works. UPDATE: We all got it wrong, old song.
- Dried up: In anticipation of the huge bash Diddy is hosting in Arizona for Super Bowl weekend, Club Axis/Radius has been stockpiling Cristal, leading to a statewide shortage. A distributor complains about the rap mogul’s stash, “Cristal is hard to get anyway, but with the Super Bowl in town, it’s impossible.”
- Giving it his best: Although we can’t stomach his slew of corny sayings, we’d be wrong to say DJ Khaled isn’t on his grind. In this interview he speaks on everything he has his hands in, including the Miami Hip Hop scene, producing hits and managing super-producers The Runners.
- Blame Canada: Our neighbors to the north have refused entry to musical trio Bone Thugs-N-Harmony citing their music as “too violent.” They were denied entry to the country and forced to cancel all their tour dates in Canada. “We was supposed to leave this morning and the promoter told us he was having trouble getting us cleared to enter the country,” explained Krayzie.
- Wrongful death: As part of a photo shoot for sleazy Janice Dickinson’s modeling agency reality show, a LA based clothing company staged a photo shoot with models posing as dead celebrities, classy. Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes was among the deceased and her family is pissed off.

Is it just me or does Jay-Z look an awful lot like that alien from Enemy Mine?
