Designer #9 off of Converse’s 1HUND(RED) Artists’ squad is 28-year old Kenji Nakayama. Nakayama who now resides in Boston got his artistic background while in Hokkaido, Japan where he earned a degree in mechanical design engineering, and hustled airbrushed, gold leafed, and glass etched pieces. For this Jack Purcell, Nakayama centered his design around the concept of time, with the solid horizontal red line representing a timeline and each vertical bar representing a moment of passing time.
