  • Not cool: Skateboarding hopster icon, Lupe Fiasco, might have been embellishing a little in this interview with Entertainment Weekly, “When the gangbangers would try to pull it, I was like, ‘Yo, I will f**k you up. And if you wanna call your cousin, call him. I’ll call me! I’ll call me right now.’ We were shooting TEC-9s when we were babies, so the whole gangsta image, that ain’t nothing.” [via]
  • Birthright: Although tenants at 1520 Sedgwick Ave., the birthplace of Hip Hop, have a plan to keep the building, they don’t have the money. So they’ve launched an online fundraiser.
  • Ascension: Wyclef describes why NYC is heavenly in this short and silly interview with TONY, “[H]eaven’s in NY because it’s the city of immigrants, meaning that it’s the place where no matter what part of the world you’re from, you feel that if you get to NY, you can make it. Automatically, you feel like it’s the city of life. Where anything is possible, like Heaven. But it does not smell like Heaven.”
  • Slinging: Can someone help out Bizarre? The D12 rapper needs money for weed or something, is selling his verses for a discounted price of $750 a pop.
  • Kicking ideas: Snoop and soccer friend David Beckam are talking about making a footwear line, of well, slippers, “So when I stop rapping and he stops playing soccer we can kick back and slip on a house shoe.”
