Rap Sheet: Stick To Your Guns

- Popping off: Raekwon and U-God discuss the good ol’ days. Like when they were growing up, they used to play with guns and U almost shot the Chef while messing around with a pistol.
- Times are a changin’: Rap sales are down across the board, changing the very face of Hip Hop itself. The Times cites the lackluster sales of 50 as a good example: “His solid but not thrilling recent album, “Curtis.” has sold about 1.2 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan; considering that he's supposed to be the genre's biggest star, that's a disaster.”
- Kicking it: Unlike most Hip Hop shows nowadays, the “Sneakers Required New Year's Eve Ball 2008,” hosted by Mos Def in SF actually encourages partygoers to wear sneakers and even donate a pair for charity.
- Drinks are on the house: Hovie might have lost his job at Def Jam but he’s still grinding hard. Last night he toasted the opening of his 40/40 club in Las Vegas and also celebrated LeBron James’ 23rd birthday.
