‘Sexy Design’ Is Much Cooler Than ‘Interior’

MAVO interior designer/sexual deviant, Masayuki Takahashi, sat down with Ping Mag to discuss “Honey Trap,” a sticky name for his bevy of sexually inspired products that include condom gun dispensers, mutli-purpose pillows, and coffin shaped sanitary boxes. For those non-history buffs, “Honey Trap” was the term ascribed to “espionage that used sex as a lure,” during the Cold War, and the impetus for this latest line of kinky goods. Ok, that’s all fine and good, but why the condom gun as lead off?:

The first work really serves as a prologue for the story told by that whole series: the condom case gun. Rather than simply designing a package for a birth-control device, I was more interested in how that package can be carried by its user. I thought of a handgun as a symbolic icon of protecting one’s self, and put the condom inside that.
