Nike Vintage Dunks: Be True To Your School

This January, Nike kicks off its five-month long commitment to presenting the Dunk in ways we’ve never seen them before. Like the Vintage Running collection the brand released months ago, the Dunk is getting thrown-back, but this time to colorways representing iconic college basketball teams. Haggard high-tops will drop in Syracuse, University of Iowa, St. Johns, Kentucky, NC State, UNLV, and University of Arizona color-schemes as part of a project Nike’s dubbed “Be True: The College Colors Program.” The Dunk’s first big push came during the 1985-1986 college basketball season, where ballers like Mark Jackson, Chris Mullin, Kenny Walker, and Pearl Washington utilized the flat-soled kicks as their go-to on court shoes. Take it back to the old school before the madness begins.
