Ghostface On Amy Winehouse: ‘Crackheads Make Good Music Too’
The irony of Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab” hit coupled with her actually going to rehab, not to mention her cameo on Ghostface’s new Big Doe Rehab is thicker than raw dripping poppies or sugary absinthe to even bother touching. But this quote by Ghost, when asked about Amy’s collaboration on the remix of “You Know I’m No Good,” is well, too good:
I’m just gonna say yo, she’s a cool girl. What she does is her business. They never knew her two or three years ago. Y’all know her for good music, so leave her for what she is, and don’t knock her for whatever-whatever. She can smoke crack, and make good music, so what? You all are dancing to her music and enjoying her music, and then you want to put her down for what she does on her own time. Mind your fucking business, man. If you don’t like her, don’t buy her records. I’ve seen crackheads on the block who can sing their ass off, and if that’s what they do, that’s what they do. If they choose to straighten their life out, it’s their choice. At the end of the day man, we’ve all got something that’s fucked up with us, whatever it is.
