NYC Gallery Perpetuates BANKSY Myth, Hopes To Hype Sales

One of the biggest selling points when marketing BANKSY is his so called anonymity. Even though it happens to be entirely untrue, it’s a much more romantic story to claim that BANKSY has never “posed for a photograph” as recently propagated by NYC-based Vanina Holasek Gallery who presents their non-Banksy sanctioned show ‘Banksy Does New York Show‘ this Sunday (1-5PM) in, well, you guessed it, New York City. And hell, if the media is going to spread the myth, why not galleries too? We got a chance to peer through their catalogue for the show. Most of the work is his run of the mill prints but there are some original stencil on found object pieces that we really liked—well, besides the rock—that we thumbnailed below.
