Retired DEA Agent Hates the Way DEA Is Portrayed In ‘Gangster’
First it was those three ex-New Jersey cops who weren’t happy with how they were depicted in FICTIONAL movie American Gangster, and now the Feds are getting into the act. Nap-during-the day ex-agent Gregory Korniloff is crying about the way the DEA was portrayed and alleged misleading facts in the hit film (how much money was seized from Lucas’ home, drug smuggled in soldier’s coffins, who made the actual bust). He also refutes the claim at the end of the movie that the collaboration between Frank Lucas and Richie Roberts “led to the convictions of 3/4 of New York City’s Drug Enforcement Agency.” The angry flatfoot fired off a cease and desist letter to NBC Universal demanding that the so called “false statement at the end of film be removed from further distribution.” Wait, now we’re confused. It’s obvious that Ridley Scott strayed from the truth'it is a movie after all, that tends to happen'but now we have to decide which law enforcement agency is more full of shit. The three cops from Jersey or this one DEA agent from NYC? Excuse us sir, but you sure you don’t want to revise that statement?
