Daily Show Writers Present ‘Not the Daily Show’

We don’t know about ya’ll, but this writer’s strike is really only affecting two nightly shows for for us, The Daily Show and the Colbert Report. But if you’re still confused about the whole mess and wonder why these people are walking in circles with signs, this clip nicely sums up the writer’s position, mainly, that like Viacom, they don’t want their content syndicated online without compensation.

It’s insane for Producers to claim that internet content isn’t worth anything. IF that’s true, then giving writer’s a percent of what is earned, won’t cost studios a penny if there is actually zero cash made.
Producers are only hurting themselves, all the workers and destroying a great chance to involve the creative workers in forming how online content will be created and marked in the future by alienating and destroying the Writers Guild.
AND they are only encouraging the use of P2P’s.
I REALLY REALLY hope this doesn’t mark the
end of the guild.
