• Dog days: Russell Simmons appears in a new PSA extolling the evils of dogfighting for the Humane Society. It features a “blindfolded Jack Russell terrier being offered up to a pit bull for the kill.”

• Looks can kill: Kanye West’s mother, Dr. Donda West, died unexpectedly on Saturday from plastic surgery complications. Our heartfelt condolences!
