  • King me: With Jay-Z’s new American Gangster album moving up the charts, Hov will have equaled Elvis Presley’s record of 10 straight number one albums. But the Beatles still hold the record with 19 number one’s. In realted news, Jay talks ‘Gangster’ with Charlie Rose. He discusses how Diddy wanted to executive produce the concept album and argued, “Even Jordan had a coach.” See it here.
  • Stop over: Regardless of what 50 Cent promised the world in his album battle with Kanye West should he lose, Fitty claims that rappers just don’t quit, “I don’t know if it’s possible for a rapper to retire, rappers are like fighters. They condition themselves to be the best. All rappers think they are the best. And they are just waiting for everyone else to recognize they are the best. You’ll see them come back and come back.”
  • On a role: Remember that Sean Paul ‘Watch Dem Roll’ music video we showed you? It was shot in Los Angeles and the director encouraged the female dancers to do their thang. Sean Paul manager explains, “Each dancer was encouraged to do her own moves to the music, so there was some crumping, a little bit of Irish dancing, some African, some Hip Hop and Tanisha brought that Jamaican element to it.”
