Is BANKSY Getting Sloppy?

banksy_new_lede1.jpg
It was only a few months ago that we re-unmasked BANKSY, the notorious street artist-activist, who despite his mug being published by The Evening Standard back in 2004, has manipulated countless media outlets'both MSM and indie'into publishing stories perpetuating his never-been-photographed-before myth. But it looks like the brazen artist might be getting a little slipshod, with brand spanking new photographs surfacing on Londonist of what appears to be BANKSY and an accomplice caught in the act of beautifying a building in East London. Although it’s hard to see from the pictures, you have to admit, that he bears a striking resemblance to this guy.

That’s not an accomplice, that is a road worker who is painting the yellow lines.

Yeah but they start out as real (city-painted) lines…
    That’s kinda the point…

It’s kind of sad how people and the media have become so fucking obsessed with outing who he is, knowing everything about him and trambling his image and mystery into the ground.

    More celebrity worship.

Personally I NEVER want to see his real face or know anything more about him. I think he’s quite a prodigy and his appeal outside his art is in his MYSTERY. Leave it at that.
