Author Takes On ‘One Hundred Young Americans’

Dealing with one teenager is a pain in the ass, now imagine a hundred of ‘em, like Michael Franzini did in his new book, One Hundred Young Americans. The author-photographer was on a mission to document a cross section of American teenagers to hear and document firsthand, what’s it’s like living as a mini-adult in this country. So he went on a junket:
He traveled to all fifty states - a total of 30,000 miles in five months - to meet, interview, and photograph teens, ranging from the mainstream kids like the jocks, the cheerleaders, and the studious preps, to the fringe kids like the goths, the skaters, and skinheads, and everyone else in between.
The result was a mass of raw photos and uncensored stories that show a new generation more than once removed from the previous. The book drops in November, but there’s plenty of stuff to preview on the ‘100 Young Americans’ website in the meantime.

The fotos are really cool My photography teacher gave us michaelfranzini.com and the pictures of the guy in the pool as an example of how to compose intersting portraits.

The girl from Beverly Hills I know her and there is a lot more to her than shopping believe me. She is a true cheerleader in every sense of the word and an amazing dancer. She wants to try out for the Laker Girls when she graduates and wants to become a cheer coach at a highschool. What about that stuff?
Also WHY is her picture fuzzy and not clear like everyone else?

this book is bs, i know one of the girls in here. the author didnt use any of her answers, instead whats written under her picture is some story he made up about hanging out at the mall and how she moved out because of her sister. which she doesnt go to the mall, and she does still live at home also with her sister, who are on good terms, where they always have. if you read this book you are only fooling yourself, this isnt a reflection of americaa’s youth, its a work of fiction
