Marc Ecko Throws Down $752K for Barry Bonds 756th Homer
Barry Bonds owns the record for the most home runs in Major League Baseball history. But you get to decide whether his 756th home run ball goes to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown or gets banished into space. No shit. Marc Ecko fronted $752,467.00 on Saturday to buy Bonds' controversial orb at a Sotheby's auction. This morning Ecko announced the reason for buying the ball on the TODAY Show, “I wanted the ball to democratize the ball and to give the ball to the people, to give the ball to America.” With that Ecko launched Vote756.com, a site that presents three simple choices for you to vote on. The first option is to send the ball to Cooperstown in its original state. The second option is to deliver the ball to the Hall of Fame, only branded with a giant asterisk. The last choice is to fire Bonds' ball into outer space. We don't know how exactly how Ecko's going to accomplish that one. But considering he dropped three quarters of a mil on a baseball, we think he's got the juice to pull it off. Cast your vote now, the polls close at midnight on September 25th.

Fuck Mark Ecko. Poser. He just want publicity for his stupid kicks. If he wants to dump 750k on it his money. I know a lot of kids in the city that could use some college tution help. But go get Bonds is more important.

Marc Ecko is a racist, who has finally come out of the closet. In my opinion he has taken plenty of money from his African American customers, and now that he’s rich, he’s getting his white cohorts together to disrespect the accomplishments of a black man. Shame on him and anyone who continues to buy his clothes. And I am white.

Ecko is a moron. He’s a money hungry piggy boy that just wants to exploit the sport of baseball. If I had to pick the greater of two evils (BB for possible steroids, or ME for exploitation), it would be Ecko. He makes bonds look like a victim. He’ll rot in baseball hell for this… I’ll never buy another Ecko product again. There are rich guys like Bill Gates that know how to use their money and influence to make a positive impact on the world, then there are assholes like Ecko, who just come across as a selfish fool.
