Unless you're planning to head north of the border tonight for the fourth annual Montreal Fetish Weekend hosted by local latex goddess Bianca Beauchamp, we can safely say that you're Labor Day plans are a little on the vanilla side. We got a chance to talk to Bianca about the benefits of adding a little kink to your life, what a rookie fetishist could expect to see at the Festival and why latex oddly enough smells like cake.

Read the full interview and see more photos after the jump.

Complex.com: Your bio on your web site says that you started wearing latex posing for your boyfriend and photographer Martin Perrault. When did it become a full-time thing for you?
Bianca Beauchamp: Actually it's because we started together out of passion and flirting and seducing each other, but back then I was still studying to be a teacher. When the university found out about my [fetish] web site and they said they were going to fail me and blah, blah, blah. I was like 22 years old. Then I saw the attention I was getting on my web site I then realized how much I really enjoyed being a model and maybe not as much studying to be a teacher. I never saw this becoming a career. It was just posing for my boyfriend and putting a few pictures on the Web. It got big all of a sudden.

Bianca HeroineI hear that kind of thing does pretty well on the Internet. What exactly is it about latex that pleases you?
I started wearing latex in my private life and it became rapidly very erotic and exciting because I could seduce someone. Now I have my career and I'm seducing everyone in front of the camera. And it's not just latex it's more like an exhibition, you know? I like to be watched and I like to be seen. And why latex and not leather or PVC? It's because it's more unusual you know? You don't see it everywhere. It's very pricey so I think it's more special. There are all the outfits you can find…you can be a nurse, a cat woman, a sexy nun, there are all the characters you can play. When I wear latex I feel like I become somebody else like a comic book heroine or a villainess. It's very sexy to touch and sometimes it smells sweet like a cake.

Cake, huh? Can you describe what it's like at the Fetish Festival? A lot of people outside of the latex world will probably either hope or fear that the Montreal Fetish Festival is some kind of an orgy.
It's fun. It's kinky. There's a lot of style in the fashion shows. No sex is allowed. For people who are scared a bit I would invite them to Circus on Friday night at eight p.m. We have a party with the LatexLand Vernissage. It's going to be a photographic exhibition of people dressed in latex but doing common every day tasks like shopping for groceries and cutting the grass. Everyone should come. And then the Latextacy on Saturday because I think it's very trendy and fashionable and more accessible for people who have never seen fetish before. I will be hosting that night and there will be fashion shows, and dancing, but no sex. I don't know where people get that idea.

What would happen to a newcomer at the festival?
Nothing really special compared to other clubs I guess. If you're shy you sit with your drink, if not you make some new friends. Of course, you will see a lot of shows all night. The fetish shows are more oriented towards clothing like latex and leather. The BDSM shows will be more like waxing, needle play, spanking, you know, stuff like that. There's no blood and no sex again…and there's a lot of dancing and a lot of drinking. The biggest thing is being seen and seeing people dressed up.

Any tips for the latex rookies out there?
Yes, you need to buy some silicone-based lubricant to put on the outside of the latex and you can use some on your skin to help you get dressed, or just use some baby powder. But you need the lubricant on the outside to make it shine otherwise it will just look matte. Ask your girlfriend to rub your latex it's very sexy, fun little game. Getting it off is very easy because you sweat. Getting it on can be a little tricky.

It's easy to spot someone on the street that has no style, what's the equivalent in the fetish world? Is there such thing as a latex nerd?
Wow. Well, not so much in latex but more like in the BDSM part you always get some lonely guy who sees you and looks at you like you are going to play with them and they call you mistress. And they don't even know your name, but they call you mistress and ask if you need a slave and that just kind of bothers me sometime. But that's just a small percentage of the scene.

That sounds like it could be a little awkward.
It's very awkward you know, but compared to a regular club, this is a lot easier and better. At a regular club the women look at you with jealousy and the men buy you drinks expecting you to sleep with them. You don't get that in the fetish scene, people are much more respectful.

Can the portlier fetishists get away with baggy latex clothing or is that considered a cheat?
There are a lot of overweight people in the scene and it's ok because they love their body the way it is and like to wear latex anyway. Sometimes it's not very sexy but then you just don't look at them. But it's like that everywhere in life, isn't it? You see fat people everywhere these days or sometimes people who are too skinny. It's up to you to find the people you really bond with. Everyone is welcome at this place unless you're a fucking psycho, you know? Unless you are a serial killer I don't know why you wouldn't just come and enjoy yourself.
