Brits, be ware. After nabbing the 2007 International Forum Design Product Design Award for the LG KE850, LG’s at it again with their newest bait for iPhone-hungry consumers—the LG U990. Debuting this fall in the UK, the sophisticated response to Apple’s iPhone boasts a sleek, familiar exterior, yet encompasses far superior hardware specs. Those being a 5-megapixel camera with image stabilizer and Schneider Kreuznach optics, a 120fps video camera, 3G HSDPA connectivity, 170 MB of internal memory and to further ice the cake, a 240 x 400 touchscreen display. LG has yet to definitively say when the U990 plans on shimmying its way across the Atlantic; but with all the hype surrounding it, the U990 seems well worth the frequent flyer miles you’ve got coasting in the bag.
