Crooks On the Run

494a1.jpg
We always knew that criminals prefer sneakers to shoes when committing crimes, but we didn’t know how much they loved Nike (which makes this commercial pretty ironic). In Britain, when it comes to running scams, Nike is the #1 choice of “trainer” among the law breaking riffraff:

Six out of the top 10 shoes on a new police database of footprints left at crime scenes are made by the sports giant.

Not only do they prefer the Swoosh, but it seems the criminals are specifically wearing the Air Max 95’s. They were at the top of the list. Reebok’s Classic came in 2nd place, and Nike’s Air max Limited took the bronze. A police source articulates the obvious when it comes to figuring out why crooks rock sneakers:

“Criminals overwhelmingly use trainers, probably because they allow them to run fast.”

Ya think? Britain has gone so far as to launch the Footwear Intelligence Technology system that helps link sneaker footprints to crime scenes. Being that Nike is basically the #1 selling sneaker brand in Britain, it’s probably no real surprise that their kicks happen to top the list. But it’s still interesting to note specifically what models make for the best getaway sneakers. Check out the official top ten list after the jump.

No it’s not because they make them run fast….its because they are chavs….who ruin the whole idea of the Air max 95 as being a classic and iconic trainer….

    I hate Chavs….!

That is crazy…but not surprising because they are definitely running shoes…nothing out of the ordinary
