• The Blueshirts: The NYPD wasn’t just surveilling anarchist types, Critical Mass bikers, and peace groups in the months leading up to the RNC, they were also keeping an eye on rappers. Yeah, cause we all know how radical Sean “Diddy” Combs, Jay-Z, LL Cool J and Alicia Keys are. Total bomb throwers.

• MIMS’s ringtone is hot: We mentioned MIM’s hitting his millionth ringtone a while back and there’s been no slowing down ever since. Virgin Mobile honored him for having sold his download being the 50-millionth.

• From Nothin’ to Somethin’: Fabolous has got a new record,new label, and thinks New York needs to start making some consistent music.

• Cee-Lo births new label: It’s called Radiculture and it’s tagline is “We don’t compete, we coexist.” The label will be distributed through Atlantic.
