Nick Cannon Can Handle the Truth

Check out this new propaganda ad from anti-smoking evangelics, the Truth, that looks into how the tobacco industry marketed cigarettes to African Americans back in the 1980’s. In a satirical interview, Nick Cannon is asked questions by Derrick Beckles, the “hip” Urkle-like, roving documentarian character investigating some of the absurdity behind selling tobacco. Nick is asked if he drinks 40oz.’s and who reads his scripts for him. The interviewer then asks Nick to prove his literacy and hands him this smoking gun document:

“Back in the 80's, tobacco companies labeled African-Americans as less-educated, prefer malt-liquor and have problems with their own self-esteem.”

To tell you the truth, we don’t know how effective this ad is, but it’s mock value alone makes it well worth it.
