GHOST Bombs adidas’ Train

When we first spotted this GHOST ‘throw up’ on one of the mock subway cars from that recent graffiti event by adidas and Foot Locker we knew for sure that something strange was afoot. All the other graffiti artists had taken hours to sketch and paint their intricately shaped and colored ‘pieces’ for the event, and yet here’s this GHOST throwie over one of the European artist’s work. Confused, we turned to the streetsaresayingthings to see if we can decipher the writings on the wall. After some snooping around, we came across this account by commenter Torcho:
lol…ghost hoppin over the rail, grabbing a couple montanas and rockin a fill right over 1 of the euro herbs hired by adidas to rock this train…keepin it real n reppin for the nyc writers! thats whats up…highlight of the whole event!
We checked in with a graffiti expert who confirmed this version of events. So congratulations to adidas, as this one throwie from one of NYC’s most notorious bombers gives as much credibility to the whole project as all the other artists combined.

Man, you guys are slipping.Yeah, Ghost turned up and went over a Ket dub, over a Smart piece.
Do you really think that would happen? do some research.
props to Adidas for bringing some heat to the gray skies of NYC. All the idiots who put this on their websites should step back and think ‘do I actually understand any of this? why am i even reporting on it?’.

ghost was one of the many old school writers in the crowd. i heard over and over how adidas paid true respect to the scene by putting on a good show…
jesusfuckedchrist April 16, 2007 at 5:18 pm
You all got it wrong. What really happened is the Vandal Squad came along and did the GH in attempts to stir up beef within the RIS/AOK crews.

I posted this yesterday lets see if they delete me again…
The TRUTH is Ghost DID NOT paint this. This was painted by SMART RIS / AOK from Rome, Italy. Smart originally painted a KIT 17 in honor of old school IRT writer KIT 17 M.G boys (Mission Graffiti). Unhappy with the finished outline Smart later covered it with a GH throw up… it was that simple!
For the record that hat “Euro-herb’ is far more talented and better connected with real writers here in NYC than that saster.net posting, 5 pointz, myspace wanna-be Queens herb Torch will ever be. This rumor Complex has just helped spread will probably be the defining moment of that toys entire graff career.
Shame on COMPLEX and their so-called “GRAFFITI EXPERT†for failing to notice the: Mark 198, Dee 3 and M.G.Boys tags still visible in the “K†of the KIT 17 piece.

Hey Rob,
First things first: We find it pretty funny that you come on here to dispel a rumor only to start a new one. For the record, your ass never posted this comment on this website EVER. Get your facts straight. Unless you’re a real asshole (meaning overtly racist or extremely offensive) shit don’t get deleted, or even moderated here. So from the get you’re already non-credible.
Second: We’re not in the rumor business, check US Weekly for that. We reported based on the accounts that we confirmed with good sources.
Third: We’ll wait to talk to Cousin Frank himseself before we attempt to update or change this post.
Rob Ewe April 17, 2007 at 12:13 pm
New rumors? Please…verbatim this same exact Complex story is also accessible through” riottt.com
I’m simply guilty of mistaking 2 identical stories that Complex has posted on 2 different sites. My bad. Hardly a crime in my opinion nor is it grounds to label me a “non-credible”.
If you really want to talk about “non-credible” sources start by pointing your finger at your so-called “graffiti expert” then you can holler at the writer responsible for this poorly researched piece of yellow journalism and the editor who gave it the green light.
jesusfuckedchrist April 18, 2007 at 11:46 am
You posted a story based on rumours off Saster.net If you are going to confirm with Cousin Frank then why not have done that before posting some unknown toys comment off the biggest graff rumour site in the world?
Rob has a good point I must say. It was also clearly obvious that their was a black & white simple piece over a burner and then the GH.
hojo April 22, 2007 at 3:07 pm
WOW. Str8 up lies. This is irresponsible reporting. To go to Saster of all places for real info? Gimme a break. I was there, ghost wasnt. Smart did a Kit77 over himself and then a Gh throw.
GND April 25, 2007 at 5:23 pm
wow…. this obviously isnt a authentic ghost throw, i.e he did not do it! look at the H, ghost makes his H with more of a curve, and the oyea writen in the g is NOT ghost’s handstyle.. go do ur research toys
