- High Card: Jay Z raises the Cristal ante, pulls out his Ace of Spades.
- Dumb luck?: Slate examines how R&B singer Akon was able to wriggle himself to the top of the charts.
- White Geekster: MC Karl Rove not only made a fool of himself, but some claim for white rappers in general. “Rove and his handlers probably thought they were being original, of course, but it's a tired gag that goes back at least 25 years.”
- The Real Underground: Twice a month Beatboxer Entertainment hosts emcee battles on the last car of a NYC subway train. It gives it that old school street breaker battle vibe (2nd item).
