Swizz Beats

It can hurt listening to Top 40 radio. Admit it. Especially if a station's rotation consists of about six popular songs, the lack of variety surely won't sooth the savage beast. Enter Power 105.1FM. Five years since becoming a major competitor to rival Hot 97, the fairly new station gave back to its devoted listeners last night with their anniversary concert at Webster Hall. Artists like dancehall veteran Wayne Wonder, producer-turned-rapper Swizz Beatz (who surprised the crowd bringing out Drag-On and Cassidy) and new jack MIMS performed representing the station's brand of variety. Surely their songs are in heavy rotation too. But five years in the game as one of New York's number one radio stations, they must be doing something right. More photos after the jump.
