A Little Paint Goes A Long Way When It Comes To This NECK FACE Billboard

About a month ago this NECK FACE x Vans billboard in downtown NYC was splashed with paint. Many people probably didn’t even notice, most likely cause it could easily be construed as part of his art. And it’s actually not to far off, considering the artist’s signature – dripping blood – hideous character style. Plus it was done in white, same color as the background on the billboard, so it’s not like it stands out that much. When we went and actually saw it in person, we realized how little of a splash it really was, more of a drizzle than anything. Which is why we were extra surprised to find this piece in the NY Times about the billboard being vandalized and consequently taken down a week early. What’s all the fuss? It’s too bad the Grey Lady didn’t bother to take some upclose pictures of the actual vandalism like these guys did, which, considering NYC and the Splasher’s history, is pretty unremarkable when all is said and done.
