Flipping Out Over Mimobots

We've told you about Mimobots before. They're those nifty little flash drives that look more like designer vinyl toys than they do thumb drives. We're fans of their Artists series, and are really looking forward to the Star Wars collection (perfect timing with anniversary coming up, we hope they do Greedo). But then we found these custom made Mimobots designed by artist/graphic designer Ryan Waller and it figures these are so exclusive they're not even available to the general public. He created three 'Flip characters' to help promote girly MySpace-like site: Flip.com. Five thousand of these were made and sent out to ‘key influencing’ and ‘opinion forming’ teenie boppers pre-loaded with 300MB of “unique content,” such as music, videos, and animations. So unless your girlfriend is underage or you lil sis is a tastemaking teenager with a blog, you really have no chance of getting your hands on one of these which kind of sucks. Afterall, if you’re gonna let us crash the party, can’t we get a gift bag too.
