The Oregon Waffle's brother-from-another-mother was the go-to for distance runners in the late 70s. Being the most technical shoe Nike produced to date, this trainer brought about a one-piece nylon toe box to reduce friction and an improved outsole to battle nasty terrain on the cross-country course.
