Photographer Ed Wheeler has kicked off this love-filled holiday with the release of another one of his Santa Classics, a photo series in which the photographer dresses up as Santa Claus and inserts himself into classic works of art. His latest piece "Santa's Valentine" is a recreation of English painter Ford Madox Brown's depiction of the world's most iconic star-crossed lovers.
"Romeo and Juliet have spent their first night together. The sun is rising, and Romeo must flee before the Capulets discover his presence. He leans to kiss Juliet one last time, and reaches out to beseech the sun to hold off a little longer," reads Wheeler's accompanying description—except in Wheeler's take on the tender painting, it's Father Christmas leaning over to plop a kiss on Juliet's face and not Romeo. Sucks for Mrs. Claus.
