Installation artist Laure Prouvost was announced as the Turner Prize 2013 winner by actress Saoirse Ronan at a ceremony in Londonderry. Prouvost's Wantee installation won over David Shrigley's urinating sculpture and other great works by Tino Sehgal, and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye and the artist was awarded £25,000. The judges called her piece "unexpectedly moving" and commended the artist for created such a "complex and courageous" environment of objects and images.

Prouvost took to the stage and expressed her geniune shock at winning the Turner Prize, stating, "I'm not ready, I didn't expect it at all...Four incredible artists here with me and the show. I thought it can't be me, I was sure it was not me." Each of the other artists received £5,000 and all of the works will remain on display at the Ebrington Barracks until January 5.
