Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang has opened yet another massive exhibition, this time, a 3,000-square-meter homage to the beauty of Queensland called “Falling Back to Earth.” The exhibition is epically spell-binding, both in size and in concept. Taking up the entirety of the ground floor of the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, it has 99 life-sized animal replicas partaking in various beastly activities. The project was inspired by Guo-Qiang’s recent trip to the islands of Moreton Bay in Queensland and features many of the elements Guo-Qiang found striking: the blueness of the lake water, the grittiness of the sand, the peacefulness of the animal kingdom.

Visit it at the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art until February 9, 2014.
