The Insane New Facebook Project That Collects All Billion-Plus User Photos

The Insane New Facebook Project That Collects All Billion-Plus User PhotosImage via Faces of Facebook

An amazing new project by visual communications specialist and coder Natalia Rojas collects the default user images of every single Facebook account in existence. Using a variety of coding and algorithms, the Faces of Facebook project is a clickable, dynamic, and pixelated map that puts every Facebook user together on the same page. The faces are organized chronologically by site registration order. When combined, it appears as a pixelated textile, massive and difficult to parse. When zooming in, though, each section shows just how diverse this online community is.

Check out more of Roja’s work on her website, where she posts many projects about “all the possibilities of interactivity applied to the communications field.”
