New York and Shanghai-based Chinese artist Zhang Huan will show new works at Pace Gallery in Manhattan in an exhibition called "Poppy Fields." The 23 works that make up the show were all created over the past three years and have yet to be shown in any venue. Huan draws inspiration from Tibetan dance masks, painting pieces with hundreds of colorful textured faces. While the artworks are of a substantial size, they are much smaller than the sculptures and works that Huan is known for, like the 32-feet-tall Confucius sculpture. The exhibition opens September 19 and ends October 26.
