The Louvre Museum Highlights the Mona Lisa with LED Lighting (Video)

The Louvre Museum recently decided to present the Mona Lisa in a way it has never been before. In collaboration with Toshiba, the institution modified the work's lighting with the intention of allowing people to experience the work regardless of the time of day or what other exhibitions may be occurring nearby.

Inside of a shelf conveniently near the painting lies a custom-made lamp created by Toshiba that utilizes 34 LED lightbulbs. The bulbs are able to be adjusted so that exactly the right lighting hits the work. Also the light compensates for the unfortunate discoloration that happens to the work because of its covering. The lamp also gets rid of UV and IR radiation. Below is a video displaying the new lighting.
